FS-10 is a high molecular weight trapezoidal sesquioxane copolymer sulfonate developed by our company as a new and efficient organic silicon flame retardant for flame-retardant PCs. It has excellent stability at room temperature, excellent heat resistance, weather resistance, hydrolysis resistance, and long-lasting fire resistance and aging resistance. It has good compatibility with PC matrix, high molecular weight, and can extend the flame retardant aging.

Applications
Product Function and Mechanism:
Function: Combustion forms a unique inorganic oxygen insulation protective layer of siloxane, preventing the escape of combustion decomposition products, inhibiting the thermal decomposition of polymer materials, and achieving flame retardancy.
Mechanism: By generating a cracked carbon layer and improving the oxidation resistance of the carbon layer, the flame retardant effect is improved, and an inorganic oxygen insulation protective layer containing Si bonds and/or Si-C bonds is used.
Applications: Organosilicon flame retardants achieve their flame retardancy through the mechanism of condensed phase flame retardancy, which involves the formation of a cracked carbon layer and the improvement of the carbon layer’s antioxidant properties. Once burned, they will generate an inorganic oxygen insulation protective layer unique to polysiloxane containing Si and/or Si-C bonds. This not only prevents the escape of combustion decomposition products, but also suppresses the thermal decomposition of polymer materials, achieving the goal of flame retardancy.
